I’ll admit it…

The first time I saw this pendant I thought, “That’s a really nice sunflower.”

Then I picked it up.

Richard Singer completely got me.

There’s no turquoise here. No coral. No fancy stone trying to steal the show. It’s just sterling silver, which means every single thing you like about this pendant has to come from Richard’s hands.

The petals have just enough depth to catch the light differently as you move them. The engraving is crisp without feeling busy. And right in the middle, almost hiding in plain sight, is a traditional Sunface smiling back at you.

It’s one of those pieces that’s incredibly easy to overlook…

…until you actually spend ten seconds with it.

Then it becomes really hard to put back down.

Richard Singer comes from one of the great Navajo silversmithing families, and you can see that confidence here. He doesn’t need gemstones to make an impression. He lets proportion, engraving, and flawless overlay do all the work.

Turns out…

That’s more than enough.

Richard Singer’s work is recognized for exceptionally clean overlay and engraving. Eric’s Notes from the Field

Sometimes the artist knows exactly how much is enough.

Another person might have added turquoise.

Another person might have made it bigger.

Richard stopped at exactly the right moment.

That’s usually the difference between a good piece…

…and one you end up wearing for twenty years.
